Zinc-plated fasteners with chromium (VI) free black zinc-nickel coating (ZNBHL) are suited for applications at great risk of corrosion. The coating contains a layer of zinc-nickel alloy and an insulating coating (surface coating containing lubrication flakes).
Corrosion resistance:
- Diameter ≥ M2 – 360 h*
- Diameter ≥ M4 – 480 h*
- Diameter ≥ M10 – 720 h*
- *No base metal corrosion in threadless parts in salt-spray tests as per DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS.

- The surface coat with lubrication flakes has a friction coefficient range of 0.09–0.14 μ.

Due to the shape of the head, the screws can only tolerate limited stress; see DIN EN ISO 898-1.
