Motor protection switches are electromechanical main circuit safety devices. They are mainly used as manual motor power switches (ON/OFF) and for nonfused protection against short-circuiting, overloading and phase failures. Nonfused protection is a cost-effective choice and does not take up a lot of room. It also ensures quick response in case of short-circuiting by switching the motor off in a few milliseconds. Starter combinations are usually configured along with the contactors.
