The rubber nut consists of a rubber sleeve whose one end is a vulcanised brass nut. The other end of the sleeve is a flange that keeps the rubber nut in place.
When a screw is tightened, the nut is squeezed along the hole walls (solid material) or it forms a “knot” behind the plate (free space).
