Zinc-plated fasteners with chromium (VI) free black zinc-nickel coating (ZNSHL) are suited for applications at great risk of corrosion. The coating contains a layer of zinc-nickel alloy and an insulating coating (surface coating containing lubrication flakes).

Corrosion resistance:

  • Diameter ≥ M2 - 360 h*

  • Diameter ≥ M4 - 480 h*

  • Diameter ≥ M10 - 720 h*

  • *No base metal corrosion in threadless parts in salt-spray tests as per DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS.

Benefits:

  • Up to 720 h corrosion resistance against base metal corrosion as per DIN EN ISO 9227-NSS

  • Chromium (VI) free

  • The surface coat with lubrication flakes has a friction coefficient range of 0.09-0.14 μ.

  • Heat capacity up to 120 °C

  • Even coating distribution

  • Functional and pleasing to the eye
Notice

ISO 10642 replaces DIN 7991 | There are some limited consistencies (some screw head heights and diameters have been amended | the M18, M22, and M24 nominal diameters have been removed | stainless steels have been removed | strength classes 10.9 and 12.9 have been added).

Due to the geometry of their head, the screws have a reduced load; for more details, see DIN EN ISO 898-1
