  • This Taptite screw forms its own thread in many steels, light metals, alloys, etc.

  • The thread’s forming torque is always lower than the screw’s maximum screw-in torque.

  • Please see standard DIN 7500-2 for reference values for correct initial hole diameters.

  • No chipping occurs during fastening, as the thread is cold-formed into the base material; this also improves connection strength.

  • An excellent locking screw for pieces exposed to vibration; the connection might not need separate locking adhesives or washers. Screw-to-hole clearance very small, thread’s thread coverage large.

  • If necessary, normal metric-thread screws may be mounted into threads rolled with Taptite screws.

  • Taptite screws made of stainless steel (A2) can only safely be used in light metals.
Notice

The applicable application or component must be tested beforehand for compatibility with the thread-rolling GEFU screw. Please see standard DIN 7500-2 for reference values for correct initial hole diameter choice.
