Residual current circuit breakers 10 kA, type B are intended for residual current protection of alternating current circuits against direct voltage and high-frequency leakage currents. Type B residual current devices are suitable for demanding applications where the fault current can be pure direct current or pulsed, high-frequency leakage current.
At the fundamental frequencies of the electrical network, the device operates with a 30 mA tripping sensitivity for personal protection, and at higher frequencies, above 1 kHz, the 300 mA tripping sensitivity supports fire protection. Type B residual current devices are commonly used in photovoltaic systems, for the protection of electric vehicle charging stations, and in connection with welding technology and frequency converter drives.
In addition, the Type B solution is suitable for locations where special operational reliability is required, such as healthcare facilities and elevator installations.
